Shopify stores have to be constantly updated, if you have an older store, you should update it. If your store is still in the process of being built and hasn’t been entered into Shopify yet, you will need to go through the process of creating a new account with Shopify once it has been done. With that done, all you will need to do for your store is to add products which can be found at http://www.shopify.com/apps.

1. Make sure you have enough inventory (there is no sense in having 10 items online when only 3 are sold).
2. Help your website get indexed fairly quickly to move people to the next step (to profit).
3. Give them a good experience. Many Shopify stores have great products and yet the owner does not understand marketing or sales, so they don’t reach their potential. I’ve seen this happen with several of my friends and clients, who would spend hours hacking away at their product, but never see any money coming in because they didn’t know how to promote it properly. They would sell out of their inventory a week after launching, because they were recommending it to friends, heard about it on podcasts
